TAKING
A BREAK
Have
you not all experienced over this past period of time that life
seems to become more and more intense? If only we look at what is
happening with the climate, the record-breaking temperatures during
the summer of 2003, we know nothing seems to work as it used to.
How do we deal with all that? How do we keep our balance, our sanity?
How do we live our lives here at Angel Valley Ranch? How do I do
it, for that is the only place I can really speak from.
Important
for me is the realization that my soul has created this opportunity
to be around at this time to get the experiences that I need for
my evolvement. As a result I have to bring up all of my capacity
to make the most of it. Is life meant to be a struggle and painful?
I choose not to look at life from that perspective, but rather see
life as a gift of the Creator with all its beauty and opportunities.
That alone makes my approach to whatever is taking place lighter.
In order to actually live it I am invited to look at myself, to
explore and if needed change my beliefs. Is that always easy and
effortless? Not necessarily. However, the reward of my effort is
that I can find peace and joy in whatever comes on my path.
That
sounds great, but how do I achieve that peace in my every-day life?
First of all I enjoy what I am doing, the project I am working on,
the people I am working with. If there is a dent in that joy it
is usually because I am tired or if I focus too much on a detail
that makes me lose the bigger picture (good point to watch for the
Virgo that I am). That picture is more than just the project. It
is connecting what is the purpose of my life, of why I am on this
earth at all. It is connecting with all of life. Many of you may
remember how Michael and I often talk about ‘following your
excitement’. That, as we feel it, is a major key to be of
the highest possible frequency and to make the most of the life
situations that are presented to us, that we create.
What
I also do is taking my breaks. People around me always encourage
me to take more of these. Apparently I have a tendency to not take
enough. Probably the amount of breaks
that we need is different for each one of us. However, the benefit
of stepping away, of re-charging, of re-evaluating, of simply resting
and relaxing is tremendous. Here at the ranch we take a break in
our daily activities during our noon meditation. For me taking a
stroll on the land, even if it is to check out something, is taking
a breather, since I so much enjoy the energy and the beauty of this
place. My nightly reflections of whatever is occurring in my life
help me. Taking care of myself, a little pampering now and then
is a good thing. On weekends I try to be consistent in making a
hike, feel my body alive and the freedom of being in nature. This
month Michael was out on the road for a while, which he loves. He
came home with lots of inspiration. I am leaving for a few weeks
to spend some wonderful time in Central America with my daughter.
We
all need these breaks, as I feel it, in order to make the most of
whatever comes on our path.
I
wish you all to take your breaks when or preferably before you really
need them, in the way that goes with who you are and that gives
you most joy.
Love to you
all. I will be thinking of you when I am in my bliss among the Mayan
temples.
