Spiritual Warrior I
October 6-11, 2004

The Path of Power is the path of the Warrior. This is a path of acceleration on the physical, emotional, and intellectual plane. Once this Path is complete, and these levels are mastered, a few great ones choose to transcend the physical and pursue a Higher Quest...a Quest of Heroic proportions. This Heroic Quest takes the Warrior on a Journey into new realms...the realms where most dare not go. Power at this level is the domain of all great Initiates, sages, and saints since time immemorial. Mastery at this level requires a commitment that brings a transcendence of the physical but in no way a denial. On this new Path the Warrior strolls the halls of Spirit. There is no sacrifice - only greater and more magnificent Power and Light. These halls of greatness are the destiny and The Journey of the Spiritual Warrior!

Medicine Wheel Workshop
October 14-17, 2004 and March 2-6, 2005

“Join us as we guide you on a journey through the four directions of the medicine wheel, including the rites of passage in the shamanic tradition of the Andes, passing on to you the gift that was given to us by our own teacher. The teachings will integrate the ancient traditions of shamanism with contemporary energy medicine as well as the knowledge we have gleaned from our own personal journeys.” - Asa Huggett and John English

This medicine wheel training is about your personal path of power, to become empowered in whatever you do in your life. To embark on a path of power one must shed their past and programming. This is the work of the South, the serpent path, where we shed our past energetically and mythically as the serpent sheds its skin. This is the beginning of a series of four workshops that will take place every three to four months. Registration deadline is October 4th. The West work is scheduled for early March 2005.

You will also begin to assemble a mesa, the shaman’s altar, so you will need to bring three stones and a cloth to wrap them in. Bring your drums and rattles for ceremomy.

We will meet at a beautiful facility in Sedona, AZ. I encourage participants to come in a day early so you can check out Sedona and settle into the energy of this very special land. You can check out the land at www.angelvalley.org.

The workshop will start on Thursday October 14th at 1:00 pm and end on Sunday October 17th at noon. Angel Valley has dorm style lodging inside and outside in tepees. The tepees are carpeted, heated and have futons. The meals will be vegan vegetarian and they do not allow any cooking of meat on the property. There is also no smoking on the property. It will be most affordable to fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor and obtain transportation to Sedona.

“Our paths through the Medicine Wheel have completely changed our lives, and the way we honor this earth walk experience.”—John English and Asa Huggett

John English is a shaman healer and award winning author of The Shift: An Awakening. He has studied with Alberto Villoldo PhD of The Four Winds Society as well as three other shamans. John has been using the dreamtime for years for personal and planetary healing. Contact John at 480-473-8957 or [email protected] to register. Asa Huggett studied the art of shamanic healing with Alberto Villoldo, PhD, for 5 years and will complete a two year training program in Archetypes and Sacred Contracts with Caroline Myss, PhD, in September 2004. As a result she has joined the ancient shamanic teachings with modern energy medicine to create Ancient Pathways, her healing and teaching practice, which is located near Asheville, NC.

GrandMother Drum and Max the Ancient Crystal Skull
Activation Ceremony

The GrandMother Drum is a living, beating symbol from the hearts of the Grandmothers that we are all one people, that Mother Earth is our one country, that love is stronger than fear and that peace and freedom are the birthrights of all humanity. The drum is the centerpiece of creating celebrations that honor the unique gifts and spiritual traditions of the diverse cultures of the human family with the theme: The Heartbeat of One Family, One Earth. The largest drum of its kind in the world, the GrandMother Drum took over a year to construct, and has over 1300 strips of wood, two hundred crystals inlaid in its kettle base and is covered by one giant buffalo hide. All this combined produces a phenomenal sound that not only stirs the soul, but has a tremendous healing effect on the body.As a symbol of the heartbeat of love that connects all nations and all races, the GrandMother Drum promotes peace and unity through the global language of music, dance, cultural and healings arts. The Mission of the GrandMother Drum International Peace Project is to travel around the world as the international voice of the Whirling Rainbow Foundation.

"When people of diverse cultures are beating together around a thundering seven- foot heartbeat, they get it," says drumkeeper Suraj Holzwarth,"They remember who they are and what is really important- caring, sharing and respecting one another. GrandMother Drum is electrifying-she is absolutely contagious!"

From a vision of indigenous grandmothers and many hands of the multicultural Alaskan community, the large, seven-foot diameter, crystal inlaid, GrandMother Drum was built in 2000. The GrandMother Drum is traveling the world as an international symbol of the Universal Heart that connects all races and all cultures of the human family. Immediately after her birth in 2001, GrandMother Drum was invited to be the very heartbeat of Alaska's largest human rights march, the "We the People" Alaska Native Subsistence March gathering over five thousand people. Within six months, the worldwide request for her community healing work spread like a wildfire of love. The project then launched two "Ring of Fire" World Tours in Australia, traveling over twenty thousand miles throughout the country in 2002 and 2003 sharing culture, promoting cross-cultural awareness, healing and reconciliation. The project worked intimately with the Aboriginal communities in countless reconcilation gatherings with Australia's "Stolen Generation".

Baby Drum Making Ceremony

Baby Drums are baby replicas of the large seven-foot diameter crystal inlaid GrandMother Drum. The GrandMother Drum and her Baby Drums are the first drums in the world to vibrate or activate crystals placed within their wooden base.

During our worldwide drumming peace vigils and drumming circles, the GrandMother Drum and her Baby Drums are activated with a collective intention of Unity, Peace and Life among our earth's people and the renewal of Mother Earth's planetary grid.

Crystals are well known for their phenomenal healing abilities on the human body. Indigenous Elders teach that the Rock people, the Crystals are the keepers of all genetic memory. When crystals are activated, they stimulate and awaken the deepest part of human consciousness at a cellular level. Crystals are known for amplifying, storing and transmitting information. As we create loving intention and activate that intention through drumming, our intentions become fully energized and amplified. In other words, Visualization (our intention) + Vibration (crystal drumming) = Manifestation. There is an amazing "quickening" to intention through the addition of the drum's crystal activation.

When activated through intentional drumming, the crystals within these drums also raise the body's potential for healing by immersing it in a high frequency sonic healing bath.

Over 550 Baby Drums have been made by our beloved community around the world joining us in workshops along our "Ring of Fire" World Tours.

Join us participate in a workshop, led by White Eagle Medicine Woman, of the sacred teachings of the drum and make your own drum to purchase or to help support the Baby Drum Project.

Sunday May 22, 2005, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, $45 (additional charge to purchase drum).
Sweat Lodge to follow workshop at 8:00 pm, $30.

How to Walk the Bridge Between the Worlds

May 19-24, 2005

In nature-based cultures, each community has one or more shamans or medicine persons who enter invisible worlds to retrieve information or guidance for the community. The skill of walking between the worlds is at least as relevant in these times, when the threats facing humanity are so great, and the prevailing paradigms and answers so inadequate for meeting these challenges.

In every sphere of life, communities and organizations that will thrive in the 21st century will embrace and nurture those that can move in both worlds. Because of their unique skills, including their abilities to live firmly grounded in both worlds, they are the bridge-builders between paradigms. This is a highly experiential, nature-based program for leaders who feel called to serve in this way.

In and around a retreat center set among the magnificent red rock formations of Sedona, Arizona, long recognized as a spiritual power place, we will focus on six key qualities of being (vision, intentionality, multi-cultural skills, intuition, risk-taking and self-awareness) that are the hallmarks of this ability. And, tapping the power of the natural world to open hearts and minds, we will explore a variety of Soulcraft practices, including deep imagery work, soul-oriented dreamwork, Council, dialogues with nature, and a 24-hour vision fast that can help develop these qualities.

Guides: Ron Pevny, Live Coach and Vision Quest Guide
Judi Neal, Executive Director of the Association for Spirit at Work
